Going back in time

Listening nostalgically to a tune from the 80s reminded me of the wonderful tech of that bygone era

Tempora est voluptatum soluta perferendis veniam eum. Maiores aut veritatis quaerat numquam qui dolore voluptatibus.

What am I listening to? Some music from the 80s courtesy of YouTube. This is nothing new, I grew up in the decade of 4 channel tv, over the top action films, Sony Walkmans, radio stations galore and 8-bit computer games only bettered by the endless release of arcade game after game.

So it is with a chuckle when I read some of the comments applauding a music clip from the decade the was whilst adding how much they want to return back to the 80s even it was just for a day. Great, if you lived through it, but would, for example, a millennial enjoy going back?

There is a possibility that some if not most people who did not experience the 80s could start missing the here and now, not least the technology. There was no internet as we know it and mobile or smartphones were depicted as futuristic communication devices in science fiction writing and films such as Blade Runner or Total Recall. But there's the thing, the entertainment aspect was phenomenal. From films, music and comics to video games.

Many precedents were set in all these creative arenas and manifest themselves in popular culture to his day. That's why I have a little giggle to myself if I recognise a subtle, or otherwise, reference made back to the decade that was. And perhaps that's why maybe it is a good idea that people who were either not born in the 80s or were too young to remember it should experience it through modern technology. Even this aspect was embryonic back then, the entertainment value was the complete opposite and a joy to live through and behold.

Take care and keep well.
